Animals run/walk held to benefit Spring Farm Cares

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Village of Clinton hosted the first-ever 'Run/Walk for the Animals,' benefiting Spring Farm Cares.

A 5K run and one-mile walk started and ended Saturday morning at the Village Green in Clinton, and the events didn't end there.

A full day of activities included vendors, live music and plenty of food. All proceeds from the day will be used to help those at Spring Farm Cares, care for the animals it takes in at its animal sanctuary on Route 12.

Event Director Dan Dellecese said, "We hope to get a lot of awareness raised about how important it is to spay and neuter your pets, and to raise some awareness about Spring Farm Cares to maybe get people to get up there to check out their animals. They have everything from rabbits and cats and dogs to horses, goats."

The dogs and cats at Spring Farm Cares live in rooms furnished like living rooms, enjoying as much of a "home" atmosphere as possible.

They want people to know they do not euthanize to make room for new animals, however, when they are full, they must turn animals away. To help their cause, call 315-737-9339
