Annual camp out begins to help boost Stuff the Bus toy drive efforts

By WKTV News

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - WKTV and Roser Communications are continuing to Stuff the Bus, and on Monday, WUTQ Radio Host Mark Piersma started his annual camp out at the New Hartford Shopping Center to help boost the toy drive effort.

Piersma will be at the shopping center collecting toys all week long.

He says it is a labor of love that keeps him coming back each year to spend the week in a tent to help those less fortunate each year at this time.

"You get that sense of giving back to the community," Piersma said. "We have such great support out there in Central New York. This is just our kind of small way to give back. People like it because they know everything they donate, all the toys, stays right here in Central New York. It's one of those things where you look forward to doing it every year."

There is also another special stop for the bus this week. On Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the bus will stop at the Adirondack Bank Building on Genesee Street in downtown Utica.
