Anthony Brindisi formally announces Assembly run

UTICA, N.Y. - Anthony Brindisi, a member of the Utica School Board, has now formally announced his candidacy for the seat currently held by Roann Destito in the New York State Assembly.

"What we desperately need is reform in Albany," Brindisi said in a release Friday morning. "From education to energy, attracting new business and growing existing ones, we need to remake how state government works. I'm the only candidate in either party who has the background, experience, and real track record to meet these goals."

Brindisi, 32, attended Siena College and then went on to Albany Law School. Choosing to return to the City where he grew up, Brindisi is a partner in the law firm of Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi, Pearlman, Julian & Pertz LLP and lives in Utica with his wife and two children.

"I love this place, and I'm tired of politicians promising change and that change never comes. I'm a fresh face with a real vision for this region," Brindisi said. "I'll be a strong voice who will fight downstate politicians from both parties to be a tireless advocate for this area. What I am not, and what I won't be is a professional politician who does the bidding of special interests and insiders."
