Arcuri and Hanna in dead heat with campaign funds

(WKTV) - The latest campaign funding figures for the 24th congressional district race are out, and it looks like the campaign dollars could match the race itself.

Both Congressman Michael Arcuri and Republican Richard Hanna are in a virtual dead heat when it comes to what they have on-hand.

As of June 30 of this year, Arcuri has raised a little over $1 million so far. He has spent around $593,000, giving him about $587,000 left to spend.

In Hanna's war chest, he has raised close to $700,000 and has only spent about $130,000, leaving him $570,000 in campaign funding.

Political websites are reporting that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is spending about $1 million in TV ads here in Central New York to help Arcuri, because his seat is considered a target.

The DCCC has purchased ads in our market and plans to run them in the beginning of October.
