Some area roads remain closed due to flooding


Several roads remain closed Monday afternoon due to flooding and damage from the weekend storms.
James Road from Jones Road to Prospect Road in the Town of Trenton is closed.

In the Town of German Flats, the dirt end of Mason Road is closed and Upper Pine Bush Road is closed.

In Litchfield, Route 51 is washed out to Cedarville Road. Crews say it should take about three days to repair.

Portions of several highways are closed in Herkimer and Montgomery Counties. Portions of Routes 5S, 20, 80, 167, 51 and 29A are all closed.

Also, several sections of the New York State Thruway are closed. I-90 Eastbound from Exit 27 to Exit 34a and Westbound from Exit 27 to Exit 29A are closed, according to NYS Police. 
States of Emergency have been put into effect for several areas, including all of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. Also under a state of emergency are he Villages of Ilion and Whitesboro and the Town of Litchfield, all of which are located within those counties where states of emergency are already in effect.
