Authorities ask for public's help after armed robbery at Byrne Dairy in Kirkland

KIRKLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Department is asking for assistance from anyone who was in the area of the Byrne Dairy along Route 5 near Clinton Street in Kirkland shortly before midnight on Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Department says a female employee was held up at knife-point. The girl's mother told NEWSChannel 2 that her daughter called her to tell her she had been held at knife point during the incident by a man described by witnesses as wearing a blue-hooded sweatshirt.
Authorities say the man demanded money from the register and the girl complied. The suspect then fled on foot.
Several police agencies responded, including a K-9 unit.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who was in the area of the Byrne Dairy located on the corner of Clinton Street and Route 5 in Town of Kirkland around midnight on Wednesday October 10, 2012 and may have seen or has any information regarding the robbery to contact the Oneida County Sheriff's Office at 315-765-2219.
