Arterial closed in Utica after man struck by a truck

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Both lanes of the North-South arterial have been shutdown between Sunset and Oswego Streets while Utica Police reconstruct an accident scene involving a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.

Utica Police say a man in his 30's was walking across the arterial near Noyes Street when they were hit by a truck.

Sgt. Steve Hauck of the Utica Police says the driver of the truck was approaching a red light when he struck the man. The victim's injuries are described as "very serious."

The front end of the truck sustained major damage, and the victim is being treated at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
