Arts and Craft Fair helps Herkimer County students with scholarships

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - The 36th annual Herkimer County Arts and Crafts Fair is happening this weekend at Herkimer County County Community College.

More than 125 vendors set up for the weekend.

People can spend the whole day just browsing through fudges, kettle corn, homemade soap, lots of jewelry, dips and maple-flavored cotton candy.

The proceeds go towards scholarships. Anyone in the top 15% of any Herkimer County graduating class is eligible.

Chairperson Jean Stapleton said, "The first year tuition is fully paid and the second year is half paid. What we do is a fun thing to do each year but it's a very worthwhile thing and it helps many students at a time when the economy is not the best."

The craft fair continues Sunday from 10:00 a.m. To 4:00 p.m.

Admission is $4 dollars. Organizers expect about 4,000 visitors by the end of the weekend.
