Augusta teen charged after allegedly stealing father's credit card

AUGUSTA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Town of Augusta Teen is facing charges after authorities say he stole his father's Discover card and made several internet transactions and purchases.

Investigators say Tanner E. Smith, 17 has been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after breaking into a locked room in the basement of his home and stealing a Discover credit card belonging to his father. According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Smith then used the card on an internet gaming site and made purchases totaling over $3,700.

Smith was arraigned in the Town of Augusta Court and released on his own recognizance.
