Banner year for Holly Days

ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - It has been a banner year for "Holly Days." The program collects toys year round for children in the Mohawk Valley.

The toys were distributed Saturday at the Eastern Mall in Ilion.

The president, Ron Sterling, of Holly Days says it is simply neighbors helping out neighbors to make the season merry for all. He said, "I've been doing this for 27 years. I just enjoy the feeling of giving people a little something for christmas. Just helping them out. Not doing all their christmas shopping but just helping them out a little bit and people are just so very thankful for it."

Sterling says 434 families will be helped out this year, with a grand total of 1,400 children.
