Barnes and Nobles executives come to work at New Hartford cafe

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Some bigwigs from Barnes and Noble put on their aprons today and did some hard labor.

The executives greeted customers and worked the counters Wednesday at the cafe inside the Barnes and Noble in New Hartford.

Why New Hartford?

The company had a contest to see which of the 120 locations in this part of the Northeast could sell the most cheesecake, and the local location was the big winner. The workers at the location also got the day off as an added bonus.

"They are allowed to come in all day," said Alicia Gatto, the cafe manager. "Some of them are working with me later, but the rest of them have the day off and are coming in for a luncheon."

Barnes and Noble's headquarters are in New York City.
