"Bath Salts" and Synthetic Drug training session held in Marcy

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Maynard Fire Department held a "Bath Salts" and Synthetic Drug Use Awareness Training Session on Tuesday evening to inform local first responders on how to handle patients that may be high on "bath salts."

The new drugs bring about erratic behavior, paranoia and bizarre scenes that many first responders have never dealt with before and have never had training on.

The training session brought state and local police agencies, toxicologists, and medical professionals together to explain to local first responders the best ways to control patients that may be on the new drugs and stay safe.
