Benner to return to court on August 30 for grand larceny charges

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - He has served nine years in prison for his role in a double murder in the mid 1990s, and now David Benner is in trouble with the law once again.

Benner was in New Hartford Town Court on Thursday on grand larceny charges dating back to last month when he was accused of using his father's checks to buy items for himself between 2010 and 2011.

On Thursday, the judge told Benner to be back in court on August 30, at which time he would set bail on those charges. He can bail out on the current charges once he finishes serving a sentence for charges from September.
