Bicylist hit, sent to hospital after being hit by car

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A female bicyclist was hit by a car on Seneca Turnpike on Saturday morning, according to New Hartford Police.

Law enforcement officials say 48-year-old Patti Cramer, of Clinton, was riding her bike in the crosswalk of Seneca Turnpike when she was by a car.

That car, according to police, was driven by 51-year-old Diane Lewis, of Westmoreland. Authorities say she was exiting Route 840.

Cramer was hit and fell to the ground and her foot to be run over by Lewis’s vehicle.

Cramer was sent to St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Lewis was issued a traffic summons for failing to use due car to avoid colliding with a bicycle and causing physical injury.
