Boonville business owner charged with selling synthetic marijuana

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The owner of a business in Boonville is accused of selling synthetic marijuana from his Main Street store. Charged is Thomas Seymour, age 69, of Lowville.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department says Seymour was selling the banned substance at "The Sporting Edge" store located at 102 Main Street. Officials say the investigation started at the Boonville- Oneida County Fair on July 27th, when a juvenile fell ill after smoking the substance. An investigation led deputies to the store where they were able to confiscate a quantity of synthetic marijuana.

Seymour was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Village of Boonville Court at a later date.
