Boonville man arrested for stealing car

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Boonville man is facing charges after police say he stole the title of a woman's car from her home on James Street.

Police say they received a call in January from a woman in Texas who reported her Ford Mustang missing from her James Street address.

An investigation found the vehicle in the possession of 20-year-old Matthew Lacomb, of Ann Street, who said that he purchased the car.

Police said he was unable to provide paperwork and the original owner denied the sale.

Further investigation showed that Lacomb went to the James Street residence and took the title and the vehicle.

Just recently, Lacomb was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
