Boonville woman: Microburst damaged my garage

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Some strong storms moved through the area Friday night, causing damage in several locations. Thousands of Central New Yorkers were in the dark for a better part of the overnight.

The storms caused broken tree limbs and telephone poles but the damage was more severe up north. In Boonville, Helen Kohl was sleeping when the storm came through. Her garage on Route 12D was lifted off its foundation and is a total loss.

Kohl thinks the damage was caused by a microburst, but that is not confirmed by meteorologists.
