Bowl-a-thon a sriking hit in Utica

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Over 300 participants took part in the 32nd Annual Brothers and Sisters Bowl-a-thon, Sunday.
Bowlers from all over the area knocked pins down at Pin-O-Rama in Utica, in order to raise money for the Big Brothers and Sisters organization, an affiliate of Upstate Cerebral Palsey.
The fundraiser aims to support the more than 150 children that the organizations serves.
"It's a mentoring program for children at risk in the community usually from single parent families," said Dana Guernsey of Big Brothers & Sisters. "We match them with adults in the community, and it allows them to have new life experiences, share common interests with an adult.
"Today's event is our only fundraiser"

There will be more Bowl-a-thons taking place locally within the next few weeks, and for more information on how to participate in those, click here
