Brewery Ommegang's first ever Raise the Roof Run a building block to success

By WKTV News

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the Brewery Ommegang held its first ever Raise the Roof Run.
The Run brought people from all over the country to the Cooperstown brewery for a four mile run to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Otsego County.
Nearly 150 people pre-registered for the event, with many others deciding to participate as walk-ons the morning of the race.
"We're starting construction on our 31st house in Otsego County," said Brenda Balcom of the Habitat for Humanity. "We're building in Portlandville, New York and were excited about that."

Much like the tradition is at the F.X. Matt Brewery following the Boilermaker race, the Brewery Ommegang celebrated the event with a post-race party complete with free drinks, a DJ, band and raffle prizes.
