Judge enters not guilty plea on Attempted Murder charges against Brian Brown

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The manhunt is over, as bank robbery suspect Brian Brown has been brought into custody.

Police caught Brown on Miller Street in Utica after being on the run for more than 24 hours.

Brown is accused of robbing the NBT Bank on Black River Boulevard in Rome. He then allegedly ran from police, with Sheriff Deputy Michael Burger being shot in the process.

Brown was escorted to the Town of Floyd Court by a fleet of Oneida County Sheriff patrol cars. There were also several Sheriff Deputies in the court room. Brown is facing a first degree Attempted Murder charge for allegedly shooting at Deputy Burger. Judge Christopher Clarkin entered a not guilty plea for Brown.

During the arraignment Judge Clarkin stated Brown has a prior felony conviction on his record.

Brown is being held at Oneida County Jail without bail. A felony hearing is tentatively set for Tuesday at 3:00pm at Oneida County Court. Bail could possibly be set at that point.

Brown's alleged accomplice, Ikiko Brown, was arraigned Friday morning in Rome City Court. He pleaded not guilty.

Officer Burger is expected to be okay.
