(WKTV) - A student financial aid event with representatives from the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) and area colleges is scheduled for Jan. 30.
The event, hosted by Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 30 in Room 225 of the Information Technology Building at Mohawk Valley Community College, 1101 Sherman Drive in Utica.
The event will feature a financial aid presentation to educate college-bound students and their families about the types of financial aid available and how to apply for it. Financial aid experts from local colleges will also be available for those who wish to file their financial aid application at the event.
Families of high school juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend the presentation. Seniors and their parents who wish to complete the financial aid application at the event will need to bring their financial records with them. Brindisi's office will mail or email a brochure with information on the event to anyone who is interested. For more information, call (315) 732-1055 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
To receive personal assistance with financial aid applications through February, an online chat will be conducted weekdays at www.startheregetthere.org. Students may also email FAFSAhelp@hesc.ny.gov or call (800) 808-1790 from noon to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
