Brown Cousins indicted for shooting, bank robberies in Utica and Rome
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - An Oneida County Grand Jury has indicted Brian Brown and his cousin, Ikiko Brown, for their role in two separate bank robberies and the shooting of an Oneida County Sheriff Deputy.
Both Browns have been indicted on four counts each of first-degree robbery for their alleged role in the robbery of the NBT Bank in Rome on July 29. The indictment says an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the bank.
For the same robbery, Brian Brown has been charged with aggravated attempted murder and aggravated assault of a police officer after he allegedly shot Oneida County Sheriff Deputy Michael Burger in the ankle.
For allegedly possessing a loaded semi-automatic handgun, Brian Brown also faces three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Stemming from the same indictment, both Brian and Ikiko Brown are facing charges of first-degree robbery for their alleged role in the May 27 robbery of the Bank of America in Utica.
