Burma refugee family gets new Habitat home
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Habitat for Humanity celebrated another completed home on Sunday. The house was dedicated at a ceremony Sunday afternoon at 303 Lansing Street.
It was the third home Habitat has constructed on that block. The house is a two-story home with four bedrooms, a perfect fit for the refugee family from Burma who will live there. The couple has four children. Habitat actually becomes partners with the family, and they do not give the houses out for free. There will be a mortgage that the family is responsible for. Habitat is building a second house this year. The other one is actually right across the street on Lansing Street and should be done by the end of the year. |
