Business and Business Person of the Year honored at MV Chamber meeting

By WKTV News

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting Thursday at Hart's Hill Inn in Whitesboro.

It was a packed house as business person and business of the year were honored.

The Bank of New York Mellon was named business of the year for its long term commitment to the region, and Ronald Cuccaro of Adjuster's Insurance was named Business Person of the Year for leading his business through tough economic times.

Despite the financial woes nationwide over the past year, Frank Elias, the Chamber President, says membership went up.

"This past year for the Chamber of Commerce has been a very good year," Elias said. "We've put on a number of events that have been extremely successful. We've provided our membership the opportunity to network. We market our member businesses very well."

Anyone who'd like to join the chamber is invited to attend one of the Business After Hours meetings. There is one Thursday night at Kids Oneida in Downtown Utica.
