Businesses honored at Herkimer County Chamber's annual luncheon

By ANDREW DONOVAN

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce held their 45th Annual Luncheon and Awards Presentation on Thursday.

200 local business leaders got together at the Knights Inn in Little Falls to celebrate the four businesses that were honored - Burrows Paper, The Community Foundation, Enchanted Forest Water Safari and Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home.

Chamber Executive Director John Scarano said events like the annual luncheon are important to fostering small business and economic development locally.

"So they can network, so they can come to events, and meet a prospective customer or a business-person they want to do business with," Scarano said. "It's paramount to come to these events. In this day in age, you can't pick up the telephone and talk to somebody anymore. They want to meet you, they want to see what you're about."

The Commissioner of the New York State Department of Economic Development was the keynote speaker.
