CWA endorses Anthony Brindisi for Assembly

CWA Local 1126, the local chapter of the Communications Workers of America, announced their endorsement of Anthony Brindisi for State Assembly. The union represents nearly 1,800 communication workers in the Mohawk Valley.

“CWA Local 1126 is proud to endorse Anthony Brindisi because he shares our commitment to bringing good-paying jobs to the Mohawk Valley,” said Michael Garry, President of CWA Local 1126. “He is dedicated to making life more affordable and creating opportunities for our working families.”

Brindisi thanked CWA Local 1126 for the endorsement and promised to work across party lines and cut through red tape to attract economic development projects and high-tech companies to the area that will bring good-paying jobs.

“I moved back to the Mohawk Valley after getting my education, because I knew this was a great place to raise my children. Unfortunately, I’ve seen family and friends forced to move away to find good-paying jobs,” Brindisi said. “This trend needs to stop. As a father of two, I will work to create better jobs and make sure our kids have the opportunities to succeed here at home.”

Brindisi stressed the importance of preparing the next generation for the future workforce to help draw new employers and turn the region’s economy around.

“In the new economy, good jobs follow good schools. We need an education system that prepares our kids to work in new industries,” Brindisi said. “I’ll fight for our fair share of school aid and make sure more money is invested in the classroom. With an educated workforce, we can attract quality businesses and get the Mohawk Valley’s economy back on track.”

Brindisi is running against Republican Greg Johnson for the 116th Assembly District seat.
