Camden couple injured in Sunday evening accident

(WKTV) - A Camden couple were injured Sunday evening after the driver of the vehicle she was riding in fell asleep, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office said.

Susan K. Parker, 59, of Camden received a back injury from the collision around 6 p.m. Sunday on State Route 69 in the Town of Camden.

According to officials, Donnelly W. Parker, 64, was driving a 2007 Ford when he fell asleep and veered off the shoulder. The vehicle struck a wooden fence and two pieces of the fencing punctured the windshield and struck Parker in the neck, injuring him.

Maryssa L. Parker, 9, was also riding in the car and was not injured in the accident. All were transported to Oneida City Hospital for treatment or evaluation.

The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Camden Fire Department and the New York State police.
