Camden man killed in logging accident

CONSTANTIA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A logging accident in Oswego County has claimed the life of a Camden man. Officials say 45-year-old Jerald Platt was killed when a tree he was cutting down fell on top of him.

The accident took place Friday morning on Cook Road in the Town of Constantia.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Department says the tree that fell on Platt was more than three feet wide and he died instantly.

Platt was logging with another man when the accident took place. The other man was not hurt.

An autopsy is being performed at the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.
