SCHUYLER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Witnesses say a driver appeared to walk away with only minor injuries after their car hit a utility pole on Route 5 Wednesday afternoon in front of G&I Homes.

The accident happened just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, and it appeared that the car also struck a fire hydrant on the scene. The car flipped over onto its side, but the driver was said to be up and walking around when rescue crews were on the scene.

New York State Police were on the scene, but have yet to release what caused the crash.
