UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - There was a big show of support for ACR Health on Thursday night, where over $6,000 was raised for their third annual celebrity bartending event.
More than 15 celebrity bartenders competed for tips with all proceeds supporting the 16th annual AIDS Hike for Life.
Local celebrities like Alex Carbone of Carbone Cars, Joanie Grande of McDonalds and Meteorologist Jill Reale all participated. Carbone raised $1,500 alone, while Reale rang in $200.
Community members who attended the event were provided dinner and live music.
Tamara Fragetta, a local woman said she attends each year for her father, who lost his life to an AIDS related illness in 2002.
"I have been an avid volunteer for AIDS community resources," Fragetta said. "They have been instrumental to me these past years and I do whatever it is i can to help them out and spread the word throughout the community."
All the money raised stays in the Mohawk Valley.
The AID Hike for Life is being held on April 27 at Hamilton College.
