Central Valley superintendent resigns

(WKTV) - The Central Valley School Board will be looking for a new school superintendent one year after the district merged.

Superintendent Cosimo Tangorra Jr. has resigned. He has accepted the position of state deputy commissioner for the Office of Pre-K -12 education.

The school board made a resolution to accept Tangorra's resignation effective Friday.

Tangorra says he did not seek out the position, but rather it was offered to him.
