Challenges to Sheriff candidate petitions rejected

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Race is set and there will be two primaries after all.

According to the Oneida County Board of Elections, objections against Democrat Angela Gumbarevic have been tossed out, as the Elections Commissioner says her petitions were reviewed and she has enough valid signatures to stay in the race.

Gumbarevic will face New York Mills Robert Maciol in the primary.

On the Republican side of the aisle, there were challenges to Rome Public Safety Commissioner Jim Masucci's petitions, but the Board of Elections says everything looks good, and Masucci is on the ballot against Assemblyman David Townsend.
