Cheerleaders taking canned good donations at 'Bring It On' performance

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - If you're planning on seeing "Bring It On: The Musical" at the Stanley Theater on Tuesday, there's a way you can help out the community at the same time.

Cheerleading teams from the Empire All-Starz of Utica will be collecting canned goods. As a thank you, cast members from the musical took time out of their day to teach the local cheerleaders a dance routine from the show.

"Utica Community Food Bank, this time of year, is really in need of canned goods and nonperishable food items," said Courtney Taurisano-Sprague of the Broadway Theater League. "This is a way they can give back to the community and get a reward for doing so."

Tickets are still available for the Tuesday and Wednesday musical performances. Food items will be collected both nights.
