Chenango County IDA gives Chobani makers "ok" on expansion assistance

SOUTH EDMESTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Chenango County Industrial Development agency has given Chobani the "thumbs up" on expansion assistance.
AgroFarma, the company that makes Chobani yogurt, is set to add more than 130,000 square feet to its plant in South Edmeston at a cost of $134 million.
After a special meeting on Thursday morning, IDA officials have agreed to cover $4 million of the expansion costs. Company officials said more than 100 new jobs would be added as a result of the expansion.
