Children's Home resident arrested on menacing charge

(WKTV) - A resident of Children's Home Residential Treatment Facility was arrested Thursday by Chenango County Sheriff's deputies on a charge of menacing in the third degree, officials say.

According to the sheriff's department, a 16 year old was arrested after an investigation of an altercation at the Children's Home Residential Treatment Facility in the town of Greene. The teen is accused of shoving, striking and attempting to choke a 13 year old.

The 16 year old, who is not being identified by officials because of his age, was arraigned in the Town of Coventry Court on behalf of the Town of Greene justices, who were unavailable. The teen was released back to treatment facility staff and ordered to appear in the Town of Greene court at a later date.
