Children's Museum promotes hands-on learning

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

UTICA, N.Y (WKTV) - The Children's Museum in Utica hosted a day of play for children of the area, during a day of rainy weather, Saturday.

The Museum's Children's Program allowed kids to view a snake, and feed a turtle. It also let them play with new train sets, and learn about the mysteries of space exploration.

The Utica Children's Museum is one of the only ones in the nation that has been adopted by both NASA and the Office of Science.

In October, the Museum will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a space-themed celebration.

The Museum also wants to increase its teaching capabilities by building a planetarium in the backyard, something that they will start fundraising for in the fall.
