City of Utica seeking Youth Common Council applications

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - The City of Utica is seeking applications for the city's Youth Common Council.

If you're a high school student under age 21 and want to help your generation's voice be heard, you qualify. The outgoing president says he'll miss making a difference, but looks forward to watching his friends and classmates get involved.

"Many times, we work just as council people, just for a different population -- a different set of constituents," said Delvin Moody, outgoing Youth Council president. "The city council works with older constituents, and we work right along them with the youth constituents, so we answer phone calls, e-mails, concerns."

Students who are interested can apply at Utica City Hall.
