City of Utica to hold film festival on May 12

By Press Release Announcement from City of Utica

UTICA, N.Y. - In an effort to enhance the art of film making in the City of Utica, Mayor Robert Palmieri announces the first Annual Utica/Ithaca Film Festival.

The students for Ithaca College’s Roy Park School have been utilizing the City of Utica as a “Back Lot” for production of their films. These students have made an economic impact on the city by staying in or hotels, eating in our restaurants, and even hiring local talent to appear in their films.

This premier collaboration between the City of Utica and Ithaca College will be the first of many events as the city and school strengthen their working relationship.

Possible workshops have been discussed where the students will share their knowledge and passion with local aspiring film makers. Come see how your home town looks through the lenses of these future professional film makers. Local film makers are encouraged to enter their films into this festival. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals from the college to see and critique your work. You never know what might happen.
