City waiting for Manny's owner to sign paperwork allowing removal of debris

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The local landmark of Manny's Cheesecake in Utica burned down in August and now all that sits is a pile of wood, metal and bakery equipment that still sits on the corner of Pleasant Street and Oneida Street in the middle of Utica.

City officials say it is the owner's responsibility to get rid the debris, and Mayor David Roefaro says he is just waiting for owner Richard Alpert to consult with his attorney and sign paperwork allowing the city to haul away the debris.

The city says it is going to bill Alpert for the work.
