Cleanup underway at Oneida County Historical Society after ceiling collapses

By ANDREW DONOVAN

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Historical Society had quite the mess to clean up Friday afternoon after the ceiling collapsed at their building on Genesee Street.

Chunks of plaster fell on top of exhibits in the gallery.

Cleanup will begin this weekend and officials will then assess the damage to both the building and irreplaceable artifacts.

The Historical Society will have to reschedule programs for the coming weeks. They were planning renovations, but now a new ceiling will be the first priority.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
