By WKTV News

(WKTV) - A Clinton man faces charges after he allegedly stole from Oneida County Office Building employees, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office said.

Randy L. Lohnas, 52, of Clinton, is charged with several counts of petit larceny.

According to officials, the thefts took place over the course of several months. The first report came in April, and an extensive investigation was launched. Lohnas was a Community Worker Outreach Program worker. Lohnas' job was to file away case folders in employees' cubicle, and when they were away from their desks, he would allegedly steal money from their purses. CWOP is a state program that places people on a part-time basis.

Lohnas was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court at a later date.
