CLINTON ,N.Y. (WKTV) - A Village of Clinton man has been charged with grand larceny after authorities say he was using other people's social security numbers to steal cable television service.

According to New York State Police, Time Warner Cable contacted them three months ago to look into the alleged theft of services. The three month-investigation led to the arrest of James Bevan, 43, of Clinton, who was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Authorities said Bevan used other people's social security numbers to steal more than $1,000 worth of cable television service.

He was issued an appearance ticket and is set to return to the Town of Kirkland Court on January 24.
