Clinton man indicted for shooting family dog


CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Clinton man has been indicted for allegedly shooting and killing the family dog last month.

It happened on April 6 at 35 Fountain Street in the Village of Clinton when police say William Richerson, 58, took the jack russell terrier into the basement and shot him with a pistol.

Richerson is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal possession of a weapon.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on May 24 in Oneida County Court.
