Clinton woman drives drunk, crashes into State Police car

By ANDREW DONOVAN

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Clinton woman crashed into a State Police car early Sunday morning after troopers were stopped to pull over another car on State Route 12.

Troopers say that 47-year-old Eleshea Gadbois of Clinton was driving with a blood-alcohol-content of 0.11% when she hit the car.

According to New York State Police, the impact pushed the police car into the other car that had been stopped. The troopers dived out of the way as they heard the crash.

Trooper Tim Meeker was unharmed and Trooper Kyle Yerman was caught between the police car and the car that had been stopped. Yerman was treated at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for minor injuries to his legs and hand and then released.

The driver of the stopped vehicle, 19-year-old Sabra Jones of Utica, and her passenger, 18-year-old Kayleigh Connolly of New York Mills, both suffered head and neck pain. They were treated at St. Luke's Hospital.

Gadbois was not injured and arrested by the Utica Police Department for DWI and unsafe speed.
