HAMILTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two people were hospitalized with stab wounds following a fight on the Colgate University campus, according to university officials.

Officials say the people involved were a student and an alum of the university.

Campus police continue to investigate the incident that took place early Saturday morning. A fight broke out among a small group at a part of about 300 people at Parker Commons, a campus-owned apartment complex.

Campus safety officers stepped in to break up the fight, and more officers were called in around 2:30 a.m. including local police agencies as the fight grew larger.

The student, whose name has not been released due to privacy issues, is at a local hospital and was reported in stable condition as of Saturday afternoon.

The alum was treated and released.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact campus safety at 315-228-7333.
