Collecting stuffed animals for sick children and learning life lessons along the way

By WKTV News

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Teens from across the country have been collecting stuffed animals for sick children and learning life lessons along the way.

Members from the Leaders for Life International Camp spent the week at Hamilton College in Clinton learning how to make a difference in the world. The camp was not only about self-character building - it's also helping children undergoing cancer treatments.

On Friday, the campers made a presentation to their parents on what they learned and how they will use their new strategies to be able to achieve what they want in their lives.

"It's my desire for the young people to realize that they're much more than who they think they are right now and when they believe in themselves and believe in the possibilities of their future that they can become who they are," said Teresa Huggins, creator of Leaders for Life International. "They can transform from being shy to confident, to be an individual who makes a difference."

The students are still working towards their goal of 5,000 stuffed animals.
