Columbia teen sentenced for sexual contact with child under age of 11

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Town of Columbia teen will spend more than 12 years in prison after being convicted of criminal sexual act in Herkimer County Court on Friday.

According to Herkimer County District Attorney Jeff Carpenter, Kyle Juliano, 18, of the Town of Columbia, was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual act in September and was sentenced to 12 1/2 years in state prison with 15 years post release supervision on Friday.

According to D.A. Carpenter, during the months of May or June 2010, Juliano engaged in oral sexual conduct with a person less than 11 years old. Juliano was charged in December 2011 following an investigation by the New York State Police.

He is currently incarcerated at the Herkimer County Correctional Facility to await transportation to state prison.
