Comets, Aud Authority honor Veterans with new memorial

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Comets organization, along with The Auditorium Authority, unveiled a brand new mural inside of the arena during a private re-dedication ceremony honoring U.S. veterans, Saturday.
Members of each branch of the military were on hand to represent those being honored in the memorial, and to view the beautiful new mural first-hand.
While the Comets may be fighting for their playoff lives on the ice, the organization knows that off-ice, it is important it is to take a step back and thank those who give their lives for our freedom.
"What's so special about the mural is that there's nothing tied to it, there's no politics or individualism or anything like that," said Comets President, Rob Esche. "It was just a simple genuine gesture of the The Auditorium Authority's gratitude toward the troops past, present and future."

Comets fans will be among the first members of the public to see the brand new mural when head to The Aud to watch the matchup against the Abbotsford Heat at 7.
