Comets join mayor for quality of life sweep

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri had some high-profile help cleaning up city neighborhoods on his weekly quality of life sweep Wednesday.

The Utica Comets took a break from the ice to hit the streets with the mayor.

The players helped the mayor clean up debris and check in with neighbors.

The quality of life sweep made a stop in the area of Churchhill Ave. in West Utica.

It's another way to get a closer look at the city that's cheering them on.

Utica Comets Player Alex Biega said, " We're just helping out the city of Utica and the mayor. Walking the streets, we learned a little about the mayor and what he does every Wednesday cleaning up the streets."

Biega says the team is excited coming off their two recent wins.

They're looking forward to delivering their first victory to their hometown fans on Friday.
