Comets players surprise Dunkin Donuts patrons Monday

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Those who stopped in the Dunkin Donuts on Seneca Turnpike on Monday afternoon got a surprise.

Two Utica Comets players were working at the counter. Henrik Tommernes and Peter Andersson surprised the guests by placing their orders and handing out prizes at the drive-through and register.

Some fans even got free tickets to go with their coffee and tea. The whole idea is to give back to the fans who have made them feel welcome in the area.

"It's nice to give back something to the fans," Tommernes said. "They support us every game and today, meeting some fans coming by and giving out free tickets, it's perfect to give back a little bit to the fans."

The Comets are back on the ice Friday, facing the Abbotsford Heat.
